Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker is urging congressional Democrats to pursue more than 200 policy proposals aimed at benefiting families in Illinois and across the country.
Pritzker announced his “Fighting for Illinois: The Day One Agenda” Wednesday alongside U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth and Senator-elect Juliana Stratton.
The proposal includes repealing portions of the federal budget law that affect Medicaid and SNAP benefits, expanding Affordable Care Act tax credits, raising the federal minimum wage, immigration reform and stronger protections for abortion rights.
Other priorities include tariff refund checks for Americans, federal regulations on artificial intelligence and changes to tax breaks for large technology companies.
Pritzker is calling on the incoming Democratic congressional majority to make the proposals a priority when the new Congress takes office January 3.
The agenda outlines the governor’s priorities for Democrats as they prepare to work with President Donald Trump during the next two years.
