Illinois leaders are pressing the newly elected U.S. Congress to move quickly on a broad relief plan for working families. Governor J.B. Pritzker, joined by Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton and U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth, unveiled “Fighting for Illinois: The Day One Agenda.” The proposal calls on Congress to raise wages, lower household costs, and expand support for families across the state. Pritzker also renewed demands to end the war in Iran, create universal healthcare and childcare, pass immigration reform, set guardrails for artificial intelligence, and protect abortion rights in federal law. Leaders say the agenda reflects urgent needs facing Illinoisans.
