Illinois is ranked tenth among states with the worst infrastructure, according to a new Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia study comparing all 50 states. The report measured infrastructure conditions, reliability, and investment across seven categories. It found 13 percent of Illinois roads are in poor condition, while just over 11 percent of bridges are also rated poor. Illinois also placed last for flight punctuality, with 28.5 percent of flights not arriving on time. West Virginia ranked as the state with the worst overall infrastructure, while Delaware was rated the best. The findings highlight ongoing concerns over transportation reliability statewide.
Study Ranks Illinois Low for Infrastructure
This is the definition of a road. It is an uncomplicated view; but it has all the elements I like: a gentle incline near the horizon, a house on the left, a marker on the right and the old telephone lines. I know it's simple, but I just love this spot. Shot just after the sun came up on an early spring morning in rural Illinois.
