A former Maroa-Forsyth School District teacher has been sentenced in connection with the abuse of a 16-year-old in 2023. Thirty-one-year-old Zoe Duncan-Savage pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. A Macon County judge sentenced her yesterday to 180 days in the Macon County Correction Center, followed by two-and-a-half years of probation. Court records indicate the jail sentence could be waived if Duncan-Savage successfully completes all terms of probation. Those conditions include having no contact with the victim and registering as a sex offender. The case stems from an incident reported in 2023.
