A former Macon County Sheriff’s Office correctional officer has been sentenced following a DUI arrest in Decatur earlier this year. Court records show James Davis received 12 months of conditional discharge tied to a misdemeanor charge. Authorities say Davis was arrested in March at the Circle K gas station on West Eldorado Street, facing multiple allegations, including driving under the influence of alcohol. Davis had worked as a correctional officer for more than 25 years before he was fired the following month. The case brings a close to the court proceedings stemming from the March arrest.
