Illinois farmers hit hard by March storms now have access to additional relief. Governor J.B. Pritzker has announced low-interest emergency physical loss loans through the USDA for farmers and producers in Kankakee and surrounding counties. The storms produced five confirmed tornadoes and record-setting hail, damaging at least 300 properties across the region. The loans are designed to help agricultural operations recover by repairing or replacing essential physical property damaged or destroyed in the severe weather. That can include equipment, buildings, and livestock losses. State officials say the assistance is aimed at helping producers rebuild and keep their farms operating.
