Pritzker Demands Answers from Big Oil

Governor J.B. Pritzker is pressing major oil companies for answers as Illinois drivers face rising prices at the pump. In letters to the chief executives of the nation’s largest oil firms, Pritzker questioned why families are paying more for gasoline while companies report record profits tied to the Iran conflict under President Trump. The governor says regular gas prices in Illinois have climbed by more than a dollar-thirty per gallon since the war began. He’s also asking whether any companies plan to return part of what he calls their wartime windfall to consumers in Illinois.
