Illinois residents are being invited to add their voices to history. The Illinois Voices 250 project is collecting personal stories, memories, and reflections in audio recordings that will be archived at the U.S. Library of Congress. The initiative is led by the Illinois America 250 Commission, in partnership with Illinois Humanities and StoryCorps Studios. Free community recording sessions are scheduled, including this Wednesday, July 8, at the Peoria Riverfront Museum. Additional sessions will be held during the Illinois State Fair in Springfield from August 13 through August 22. A do-it-yourself recording option is also available online at il250.org/il-voices.
