On Friday, July 3, at 9 AM, Ledgestone Disc Golf will be hosting a Grand Opening ceremony at Forsyth Park to unveil one of two brand new disc golf courses at Forsyth Park.
The Grand Opening Ceremony will be hosted – 942 W. Forsyth Parkway. Forsyth, IL 62535 (*Note it will not be held at the original hole #1)
The design project for these courses began in the Fall of 2025 and was the result of a partnership between Ledgestone Disc Golf and the Village of Forsyth. The goal of this project was to elevate Forsyth’s annual disc golf tournament, the Forsyth Open, and to help make Forsyth a disc golf destination for both recreational and experienced players. By offering two distinct courses in one location, Village Park will provide everyday recreational opportunities for residents while also attracting more experienced players for tournaments and weekend visits.
These new courses will be featured in the 10th Annual Forsyth Open, which will be contested July 10-12 at Forsyth Park. This disc golf tournament, open to both amateur and professional players, will attract the best players from around the state and several touring professionals. The tournament is hosted in collaboration with the Illinois Open Series and is made possible by significant support from the Village of Forsyth and the Decatur Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. We have added $12,000 to the purse for professional divisions (a very large amount for an event in Illinois) and every Amateur player gets a “player pack” with their registration which contains merchandise that is valued at over $250.

The Ledgestone Open is an annual event that started in 2011 and has grown from a small, local event to the largest disc golf event in the world, hosting more than 2,500 players every year. The Ledgestone Disc Golf team has also successfully hosted several other elite events, including:
- 2023, 2024 & 2026 PDGA Champions Cup
- 2024-2026 United States Amateur Disc Golf Championship
- 2025-2026 Discraft Supreme Flight Open
- 2025 Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship
Ledgestone also runs several smaller Amateur tournaments every year, in both our local area (Peoria, Illinois) and across the United States. In 2026, we will add the Masters World Championships and the PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships to our schedule of world-class events.
