1 dead, 1 hospitalized after two crashes on I-70 in Cumberland County

One person is dead and another was hospitalized after two crashes Saturday morning on I-70 in Cumberland County. Illinois State Police say the first crash happened just before 7:30 on westbound I-70 near Greenup, involving a car and a semi. One person was taken to the hospital. About an hour later, three semis crashed nearby at milepost 114, killing one driver. Westbound I-70 remains closed as investigators work the scene, with traffic diverted at Greenup to Route 40.
