The City of Maroa has announced Michael Donaker as its new Chief of Police.
Donaker brings nearly 30 years of law enforcement experience to the role. He has served with the Decatur Police Department since 1998, building a career focused on public safety, training, and community service.
Throughout his career, Donaker has gained extensive experience in several key areas of law enforcement. His background includes officer training, use-of-force instruction, active shooter response, school safety, and incident command. City leaders say that experience will be valuable as he steps into leadership of the Maroa Police Department.
Mayor Ryan Wilkey praised Donaker’s leadership, professionalism, and commitment to public service. He said Donaker’s experience and steady approach make him a strong choice to guide the department and support the safety of Maroa residents.
Donaker says he is honored to serve the City of Maroa as Chief of Police. He looks forward to working alongside officers, schools, local businesses, and residents to strengthen public safety, build trust, and continue developing strong relationships throughout the community.
