The Macon County Health Department’s evidence-based Diabetes Self-Management Program, originally scheduled to begin on May 21st, has been postponed by 2 weeks, giving community members additional time to register and join the program.
Through the program, individuals will learn how to communicate effectively with their doctor and other
healthcare professionals, manage symptoms, fight fatigue, build their confidence, eat healthier, and
monitor their blood sugar.
Classes are held on Thursdays for two and a half hours. They are FREE and open to all of those affected by diabetes, including family members and caregivers. Donations are accepted. The sessions will be held from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. at the Macon County Health Department, located at 1221 E. Condit St. in Decatur, Illinois.
The sessions will take place on the following days:
• June 4th
• June 11th
• June 18th
• June 25th
• July 2nd
• July 9th
