The Illinois State Police marked a milestone today with its first annual Telecommunicators Graduation and Promotion Ceremony. Thirty new telecommunicators took their oath after completing a challenging, months-long training program across six regional centers. ISP Director Brendan F. Kelly praised these TCs as the essential first link in emergency response, handling urgent calls across 102 counties and connecting those in crisis with police and rescue teams. Nine telecommunicators were also promoted, stepping into supervisory and managerial roles. The ISP emphasized its ongoing commitment to professional development, announcing that this ceremony will become an annual tradition to honor both new graduates and outstanding service.
