LOTTERY GRANT RECIPIENTS

The Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs is awarding almost $1 million in grants to boost support for veterans and their families. Funded by the Veterans Scratch-Off Lottery Ticket, this initiative delivers competitive reimbursement grants on a quarterly basis to eligible nonprofits and government agencies. This year, every recipient is located in northern Illinois, with organizations in Chicago receiving the majority—over $540,000 of the total sum. The department says these funds will enhance programs offering housing, employment assistance, health services, and more, highlighting a continued commitment to those who have served.
