Fifth graders in Decatur will soon have a chance to step back in time, as the Governor Richard J. Oglesby Mansion and Museum presents its annual educational play, “Grant Visits the Oglesbys.” Running from April 27 through May 1, 2026, this interactive event lets students tour the historic mansion and meet actors portraying figures from the 1880s, including President Grant. Teachers interested in securing a spot for this unique learning experience can reserve now by contacting Bill Horton.
