Ex-Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Teacher To Enter Plea In Sex Abuse Case

A former Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley teacher, Robert Dinkins, is expected to reach a plea agreement on charges of sexually abusing a student. Ford County court records confirm a hearing is scheduled for February 18th for Dinkins to enter his plea. The case began after parents reported troubling messages their child received from Dinkins, prompting an investigation last March. Authorities say evidence revealed Dinkins engaged in sexual activities with a high-school student. Dinkins was arrested last June in Macon, Georgia, on aggravated criminal sexual abuse charges.
