Macon County Animal Control Experiencing Temporary Phone Service Outage
January 30, 2026
Macon County Animal Control (MCAC) is currently experiencing issues affecting its primary
phone system. At this time, MCAC is unable to make or receive calls and faxes through its
standard phone lines.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to residents and partners. At this
time, there is no estimated time for normal phone service to resume.
Temporary phone lines have been established to ensure continued service to the community:
• For Adoptions and Animal Reclaims: (309) 359-7054
• For Animal Control Concerns: (901) 501-6216
Medical service providers and all individuals who normally fax documents to Animal Control
are asked to temporarily fax those materials to the Macon County Sheriff’s Office at:
Fax: (217) 424-6010
MCAC staff are actively working with service providers to resolve the issue as quickly as
possible. Updates will be shared as soon as normal phone operations are restored.
We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding during this disruption.
For emergencies and after-hour concerns requiring immediate animal control response, residents
should continue to contact Macon County Dispatch (217) 424-1311.
