Illinois State University has begun a major revamp of its Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts. Governor J.B. Pritzker led the groundbreaking for this transformation project, backed by an 87-million-dollar state investment. Over several years, the initiative will expand and upgrade the fine arts complex, adding new academic, instructional, and performance spaces for students and faculty. The work includes phased renovation, some demolition, and new construction. Interior updates for existing buildings are scheduled for the summers of 2026 and 2027. University officials anticipate the substantial completion of the project in 2028, marking a new era for the arts at ISU.
