Pritzker’s Office Blasts Bears Stadium Project Shift
Governor Pritzker’s office is criticizing the Bears for considering Northwest Indiana as a possible site for a new stadium. Team President and CEO Kevin Warren announced that the team is expanding their search beyond Arlington Park and evaluating opportunities throughout the Chicagoland region, including Northwest Indiana. Warren says the Bears made that decision after state leadership told them the stadium project won’t be a priority in 2026. Pritzker responded by calling the move a “slap in the face to all the beloved and loyal fans who have been rallying around the team during this strong season.” His office says the governor has been clear that the bottom line for any private business development shouldn’t come at the full expense of taxpayers.
