ADOPTIONS
Courtrooms across the state will be opening their doors later this month to finalize adoptions. Adoption Day celebrations are scheduled in Cook, Rock Island, and Williamson counties on Nov. 21, Winnebago County on Nov. 22, Kane County on Nov. 24, as well as Madison County on Dec. 19. Nearly 2,500 Illinois children were adopted during the last fiscal year, and 2,443 youth in care have a permanency goal of adoption.
