Illinois Farm Bureau Sues American Farm Bureau Federation
(Bloomington, IL) — The Illinois Farm Bureau is suing the American Farm Bureau Federation. The lawsuit follows a decision by AFBF to expel the Illinois farmer group Tuesday due to a disagreement over a membership change within IFB. The Illinois Farm Bureau claims the termination violates a past settlement agreement. The group believes AFBF has abandoned more than 70-thousand Illinois farmer members because an affiliate insurance company doesn’t want to force non-farmers to join.
