Woman Shot And Killed By Sangamon Co Sheriff’s Deputy

(Springfield, IL) — One woman is dead after she was shot by a Sangamon County Sheriff’s deputy. Authorities say the sheriff’s office was called out early Saturday to a home in the 28-hundred block of Hoover Avenue in Springfield. Two deputies conducted a search of the area. Not long after, the deputies reported that shots had been fired, resulting in a woman being shot. The woman died later at the hospital and the incident is under investigation.
