Deadly Police Shooting In Decatur Deemed Justified
(Decatur, IL) — Macon County State’s Attorney Scott Rueter is calling a deadly police shooting last month in Decatur justified. Rueter said the use of force in the shooting of Rocky Dupin wasn’t in violation of state law and was the necessary response. Video shows officers pulling over Dupin and ordering him to get on the ground. However, he eventually stands up and pulls out an object shaped like a gun, causing officers to open fire. It was later determined that the object was a “replica style gun” that appears realistic.
