(Springfield, IL) — A proposed bill is designed to prevent families in Illinois from receiving the wrong remains of their loved ones. The state Senate approved a measure yesterday that would require all funeral and crematory establishments in Illinois to include the chain of custody records and start implementing a system to track uniquely identified remains. The legislation now heads to the House.
