More Than 70 IL School Districts Cancel Classes for Eclipse
(Springfield, IL) — More than 70 school districts across Illinois plan to cancel classes Monday when the total solar eclipse occurs. During the eclipse, the moon will pass between Earth and the sun, blocking much of its light for a few minutes. In Illinois, the total eclipse will be visible over approximately 128 miles in the southern part of the state. It’s expected to reach totality at 2-01 p.m.
