Decatur Police Say Man Killed in Officer-Involved Shooting Was Carrying BB Gun
(Decatur, IL) — Decatur Police say a suspect who was shot and killed by officers Monday night was carrying a BB gun — not a real gun. Police say the suspect matched the description of a man who held up the Decatur Discount. Police say 38-year-old Rocky Dupin allegedly pulled out the BB gun when confronted and officers fired at him. He was rushed to Decatur Memorial Hospital, where he later died. Two officers are on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation into the incident.
