Illinois Resident Sentenced To Prison In Jan. 6 Capitol Riot

(Chicago, IL) — Another Illinois resident will spend time behind bars for taking part in the January 6th Capitol riot in 2021. Athanasios Zoyganeles [[ ah-tha-nah-see-o zoy-gah-nah-lous ]] of Chicago was sentenced to ten days in prison and nine months of probation. He pleaded guilty last year to misdemeanor parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building. Prosecutors say he bragged on social media that he had “rushed the Capitol.”
