Man Fleeing From Police Dies In Champaign Crash
(Champaign, IL) — A man is dead after fleeing from police and crashing in Champaign. Police say Devontae Turner was killed in an accident Tuesday night at the intersection of Springfield Avenue and Staley Road. He had previously fled a traffic stop by the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office earlier in the evening. Investigators believe he was fleeing the area after spotting a Sheriff’s Department vehicle on Staley Road.
