Armed Robbery At Springfield Movie Theater
(Springfield, IL) — The Springfield Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at a local movie theatre over the weekend. The incident was reported Saturday night at the AMC Showplace 8 movie theatre on South Dirksen Parkway. Witnesses told officers that a male suspect with his face covered entered the lobby and approached an employee distributing tickets to customers. He demanded money from the employee while pulling out a handgun. He then left the scene on foot and remains on the loose.
