Nelson Park Boat Ramps to be closed for Lake Fest July 7-9
Decatur, IL – Due to the activity of Centennial Lake Fest happening near the Nelson Park Boat Ramps and inside the boat trailer parking lot, the ramps will be closed for the weekend starting Friday July 7th at 5:00 a.m. and they will reopen Monday July 10 at 5:00 a.m.
This closure is for the safety of festival goers, and we apologize for the inconvenience. The other boat ramps around the lake will remain open.
Centennial Lake Fest is a one-time special event celebrating the 100th anniversary of Lake Decatur, sponsored by The City of Decatur, Decatur Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, Decatur Park District, and Staley Family Foundation.
The main events of Lake Fest will be Saturday, July 8, and Sunday, July 9. Events will include art vendors, a lighted boat parade, sailboat regattas, live music, a fishing competition, and many more fun family events.
