Cardinals OF O’Neill’s Recovery Hits Snag
(St. Louis, MO) — Tyler O’Neill’s return to the Cardinals line up is being delayed. The outfielder was supposed to resume baseball activities this week, but manager Oli Marmol told reporters yesterday that O’Neill’s rehab assignment was cancelled because of his lower back injury. O’Neill has been on the injured list since May 5th after suffering a low back strain. Marmol says that the team doesn’t have a timetable for O’Neill’s return to the lineup. The 27-year-old is hitting .228 with two home runs and six RBI in 29 games this year.
