Wanted Urbana Man Shoots Himself Outside Champaign Store
(Champaign, IL) — A wanted Urbana man is in the hospital after shooting himself. Authorities say the incident happened yesterday outside a Meijer on North Prospect Avenue in Champaign when a deputy approached to speak with him about a previous incident. Investigators believe the suspect broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home near Champaign on March 29th and killed her mother’s dog. This past Saturday, he is accused of trying to force his way into the same home and exchanging gunfire with someone inside. The man’s identity and condition haven’t been released.
