16yo In Custody After Deadly Shooting Of 13yo In Decatur
(Decatur, IL) — A 16-year-old is in custody following the shooting death of a 13-year-old in Decatur. Police say the pair were in a home on 4th Drive Monday when a gun went off, hitting the younger teen, who died at the hospital. Following an investigation, the 16-year-old was arrested for Involuntary Manslaughter. The suspect is being detained at the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center. Investigators believe the shooting was accidental.
