City Officials have issued the following release:
The City of Decatur would like to notify the public that City government offices at the Decatur Civic Center will close early at 3:30pm on Thursday, December 22, 2022, due to poor visibility and frigid temperatures. Certain City staff can still be reached via telephone or email.
We apologize for any inconvenience this causes our citizens, but hope individuals will choose to stay home if they can. Citizens can still utilize the City’s website – www.decaturil.gov – to pay bills and conduct business with the City.
Decatur Public Transit operations will continue as normal today unless otherwise notified.
No decision has been made about closing Friday, December 23. City leadership will keep an eye on weather conditions this evening.
City offices will still be closed on Monday, December 26, in observance of the Christmas holiday. All offices should resume normal operations on Tuesday, December 27.
