Madigan Pleads Not Guilty To New AT&T Conspiracy Charges
Former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan is pleading not guilty to new federal conspiracy charges involving AT&T. Madigan didn’t appear yesterday as his lawyer entered the not guilty plea during a telephone hearing. A federal grand jury charged the former Democratic powerhouse last month with arranging payments to be made in 2017 to one of his allies as a reward for assisting with legislation sought by AT&T.
