Illinois to Receive Funding for Pollution Control Efforts
Illinois is due to receive 75-million dollars to clean up pollution across the state. The money is coming from money that has been set aside for cleaning up abandoned mine lands. The purpose is to help local communities reclaim land and address pollution caused by abandoned coal mines. Officials say the program will create jobs and revitalize coal communities.
