Man Charged with Making Terroristic Threats in Champaign
Officials with the State’s Attorney’s office say a 54-year-old man from Savoy — Michael Miller — has been arraigned on charges he made a terroristic threat to commit a mass shooting in Champaign. Miller is charged with sending emails on July 24th that said he would commit a mass shooting at the intersection of Green and First Streets in Champaign. He also allegedly stated he had — quote — a handful of folks he wanted to murder and referenced three people on what he called his murder list. Authorities say hundreds of emails he had sent Mayor Deborah Feinen in recent months are also under investigation.
