Lawmakers Stress Need For Safety Improvements At Assumption Intersection

State and local leaders are taking steps to make an intersection in Assumption safer after two deadly crashes. Representative Rodney Davis joined other state and local officials during a news conference yesterday to discuss the need for improvements at the U.S. 51 and Leafland Street intersection, where two teens were killed on July twelfth. IDOT is considering safety options for the intersection, which include a traffic light or a J turn.
