Frerich’s Office Offers Tips on Paying College Expenses
Illinois Treasurer Mike Frerichs’ office is offering some tips for using Bright Start money to pay college expenses. Families planning to use their bright start college savings to cover costs should log into their account, select “transact online” and then “withdrawal.” Users will be asked what kind of withdrawal they want to make. Some schools require the money to be transferred electronically and you will need your student’s college ID number. The Treasurer’s Office says it’s best to start the process early to ensure payment is received on time.
