Ford County Man Pleads Guilty to Attempted Kidnapping
A Ford County man is pleading guilty to attempted kidnapping. Prosecutors say Paul Theesfield of Roberts admitted that he had attempted to kidnap a woman in Gibson City on December 5th, 2020 in order to sexually assault her. He hit the woman from behind with his SUV to incapacitate her, but she recognized him and screamed. Theesfield then returned to his home, where he was later arrested. Authorities also seized handcuffs, wire rope chokers, zip ties, duct tape, an electric cattle prod, and other items from the Roberts Water House, where Theesfield was employed.
