Baseball Player Killed In Crash Near Springfield
A baseball player is dead following a crash near Springfield. The Sangamon County Coroner says Lucas Otto died at the scene after his car collided with another vehicle Wednesday night on I-72. The other vehicle was going the wrong way. The driver of that vehicle was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Otto was a pitcher for the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes, which is a U.S. Prospect League and collegiate summer league baseball team.
