Law Enforcement Cracking Down On Impaired Driving Over July 4th Weekend
Law enforcement in Illinois is stepping up patrols around the state over July 4th weekend. The “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign is designed to crack down on impaired driving. The campaign features stepped-up enforcement by state police as well as more than two-hundred police and sheriff’s departments across Illinois. There were 22 deadly accidents over the July Fourth holiday period last year, the highest total in five years.
