Pritzker Calls For Special Session for Reproductive Health Rights
Governor Pritzker is calling for lawmakers to return to Springfield to strengthen the state’s abortion rights. The governor’s request followed Friday’s decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade. Pritzker said the decision was the product of “the radical majority Donald Trump and his right-wing allies created on the Supreme Court.” State leaders want to be prepared for an influx of people coming to Illinois from other states to get an abortion.
