Pritzker Signs Legislation Recognizing Republic of Ireland Day In Illinois
Illinois is recognizing the country of Ireland. Governor Pritzker yesterday signed legislation into law designating April 18th as Republic of Ireland Day in Illinois. April 18th will serve as a celebration of the many Illinoisans of Irish descent who have made a lasting impact on the state. It marks the anniversary of the day in which Ireland declared its independence from Great Britain.
