A new state law gives vaccinated public school teachers and staff members in Illinois paid COVID-19 sick leave. Governor Pritzker signed legislation yesterday that guarantees COVID related paid time off for fully vaccinated teachers and other school employees. It also returns virus related sick days to vaccinated employees who had to use them earlier in the school year. The bill was a compromise piece of legislation that was the result of the January standoff between the Chicago Teachers Union and Chicago Public Schools.
