Governor Pritzker is launching an Overdose Action Plan for Illinois. The plan is designed to combat the opioid epidemic in the state. The governor said nearly three-thousand Illinois residents died of opioid overdoses in 2020, the deadliest overdose year on record in the state. The plan will be a partnership to provide mental health and recovery services to Chicago and other areas most affected by opioid deaths.
