The Illinois Department of Human Services is awarding four-million-dollars in grant funding to support students preparing to become Behavioral Health workers. The funding will go toward the Certified Recovery Support Specialist Success program, which prepares students for entry-level positions as behavioral health workers. The program is funded by adult-use cannabis tax revenue. Students in the program will receive full funding that assists with tuition, textbook costs, application fees, childcare, and transportation.
