Candidates in Illinois are beginning the process of running for office. Many filed their petitions yesterday for the June 28th primary, signaling the official start of the 2022 election season. Among them were Democratic Governor J.B. Pritzker and four of his potential Republican opponents. The GOP candidates for governor who filed petitions were Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin, Bull Valley businessman Gary Rabine, state Senator Darren Bailey and former state Senator Paul Schimpf.
