Senate Passes Bill Preventing Hair Discrimination In The Workplace

The Illinois Senate is voting to end hair discrimination in the workplace.  State Senator Mattie Hunter says it’s not right that a large number of African American women have to change their hairstyle to meet more conservative standards at work.  The bill now moves to the house for a vote.  Last year, lawmakers passed similar legislation that applies to school dress codes.
