Antiviral COVID-19 Pills To Be Available In Illinois This Month

Two newly approved drugs that treat COVID-19 will be available in Illinois later this month.  State health officials say the oral antiviral pills are for those with mild-to-moderate cases of the coronavirus who are at high risk for becoming severely ill, including hospitalization or death.  Both pills will be available by prescription only and should be taken as soon as possible after being diagnosed and within five days of the beginning of symptoms.
